Ever since I started to organize Christmas parties for my students when I was teaching at another school, some of those students started to show up every year, even ten years after graduation.
They do come in batches now, this being the second batch (this year without children). The third hit timing problems and may not come before January.

OK, the tree is up. I kept the lowest layer free of decorations for two reasons: Garfield and Gigi. Empirical studies last year showed a significant increase in lifetime for decorations above the first level. I hope the studies will be confirmed this year.

More stollen, more marzipan potatoes. Some of our students are waking up now and noticing that we are moving through December, so now I even get requests for baking activities.
The fourth year asked for stollen, so we made that. And since we made the marzipan in them ourselves, the surplus went into marzipan potatoes.
Marzipan is both still rather uncommon and worth making yourself here in Taiwan. Readily made marzipan (usually "1:1", meaning equal parts of almond powder and powdered sugar, quite sweet) costs about TWD700 (more than USD20) per kilogram, while the almost 1kg we made costs only a third of that.
There also was another request for gingerbread. Hmm...

Focussing the radiation into a beam will exceed that field strength in certain areas around the antenna (within the beam), which is often not allowed.
