In many films playing in Chinese-speaking areas you can see parks full of people in the morning, practicing "taichi" (taijiquan 太極拳) or other things.

This may look like a cliche, but it is not, they really do that. Here in Taiwan you can go to any park that deserves that title and from about five in the morning you will see people showing up for practice - including armies of housewives dancing.

Being a long-nosed cultureless foreigner, I still come to the park simply to eat breakfast...
