What next?
Unfortunately I am through all Culture novels by Iain Banks and since he is gone now, there won't be any new. I am also through pretty much everything of Alastair Reynolds. I tried the Ringworlds once but they are not really to my liking - humping all the time and not much regard for physics.
Having said that, I also pretty much liked Harry Turtledove's "World War" series, although the author has a very different focus. While I wait for something new from Alastair Reynolds or (not strictly SF) Andreas Eschbach, is there another author you think might fit into this group?
