That was a pretty "fresh" weekend, indeed the coldest cold wave I have seen here.
That was a pretty "fresh" weekend, indeed the coldest cold wave I have seen here. Those temperatures may look normal to you, but this here is a tropical island. OK, the values in the image are from the subtropical part, but here at our (tropical) end it's only 3~4 degrees more.
Luckily, after Wednesday we should be back to normal...

This time they taste better, but the belly is still a problem. Last time I just put on a slice of white dough, which didn't expand at the same rate as the main body. This time I punched a hole and put in a ball of white dough. So next time I need to try something different.
I had done experiments earlier this week to get the flavour right and found that here too thin layers of marzipan are a great improvement. OK, no surprise there, it's marzipan...
Chocolate isn't bad either...

There is an official PayPal mobile app in the Play Store. Problem is: not available in Taiwan. So you will probably think: Ah well, that means the service is not available there. But it is.
So I contacted their support: Hey, you got that app in the Play Store, but it's not available in Taiwan. Can you tell me why?
I went through three reps, all telling me: I'm sorry, I've checked and I saw the app is currently not available in Taiwan.
Really? Thank you, I almost hadn't known that, it was merely the reason I contacted you in the first place.
The third rep, with a no-reply address, then was so kind to explain that PayPal needs more time to gather more resources before they can enable access for Taiwan.
Wow. More time, for more resources. I had been under the impression that a developer only needs to push a mouse around and select which countries will have access and which won't with a mouse click, but apparently PayPal is doing that selection with huge boulders, hence the need for time and resources.
Seriously, if anyone knows or can think of a reasonable explanation for this, please let me know. All I can think of is not the least bit reasonable...

My daughter had asked for Totoro cookies, but to avoid those being taken away from her with the "you can't eat too many cookies" line I looked into things that are OK every day, bread and mantou.
Mantou are pretty similar to German Hefekloesse, except that they often have their own flavour and/or some filling.
So I used a recipe for Hefekloesse, then split the dough and added food dye and cocoa, depending on the desired colour.
The belly is just a small disk of white dough, unfortunately it does not grow proportionally to the main body, this is something I need to solve next time, the rest was somehow OK.
Now I'm waiting for the test eater to wake up...
