Another baking event in preparation of the department's October fest celebration, but this time the bread rolls were only supplemental, the main focus of our attention were three kinds of bratwurst, roast sausage.

A student had made potato salad and everyone present was invited to try everything and voice their opinion. This should be interesting...

Sieht gut aus und sicher allen geschmeckt, gemeinsam zubereiten und gemeinsam essen. Auch fremdländisches Essen schmeckt. :)

Olaf Fichtner where did you get German wurst? I usually buy most of my German stuff from these guys http://www.germandeli.com/

Jen & Annabelle sausage that can be called “German” is not easy to find here. Everything that Costco Taiwan has under that label is hopeless. I usually buy from a big foodstuffs dealer in Taipei, 101SM, who imports lots of things, among them one kind of bratwurst.

There used to be a German engineer in Taichung who offered several kinds of bratwurst and other goodies, but his website is gone. There were also a few foreigners at the East coast who went into sausage making. Their early results were... ahem... They got better then.

Students found a source here in Kaohsiung, but I think they are not as good as 101SM. So, these days I'm thinking slightly more frequently about trying to make sausage myself...
